Club Details/History

Thanks for entering the Official Website of the Torana Street Machine Club of South Australia... Here are some details which you may like to know about our club.

Our club was formed in 1988 and has progressed to a membership that currently consists of about 50-60 members. The club is always well represented wherever we go and has a good reputation throughout South Australia and in other States. Members enjoy a good social atmosphere when together and it is an aspect of the club that we feel is as important as the cars.

Our Club organises a variety of events/activities throughout the year, that are both socially and/or car oriented. At the very least we have one club meeting per month and one club event. This usually increases in the summer, where there may be a number of events scheduled in a month.

We attend most shows in S.A including Mount Gambier Show 'n' Shine and the Riverland Cruise in Berri. Every year quite a few make the trip to Canberra for the Summernats as well. Apart from shows we attend cruises around Adelaide , BBQ's, observation rune, bowling nights, drag racing events, parties and any other events that arise from time to time!

Every year the club holds its own show in December that is held at Bonython Park opposite the Brewery.

The club also acts as an information, advice and referral servicefor all your needs. We can also assist with any information you may require about your Torana and/or modifications you maight be considering for the street or track. Through the club we have members who are mechanics, printers, painters, trimmers and others who can assist in other ways. We can also offer a referral service to assist you in selecting suitable businesses and/or products which we have found reliable through years of street machining...

We are affiliated with the Street Machine Association of S.A. (SMASA) which caters for all enthusiasts of Street Machining and organises an annual Show 'n' Shine (free entry for SMASA members), many cruises and special events. It also produces a quarterly Magazine for members called "Distributor" which includes discounts to some retailers and businesses including insurance.
